Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to read my meter?
No, unless it is not accessible to the meter readers. You
most certainly can if you wish to and write the reading in the
boxes located at the top of your bill.
Am I required to pay late fees?
If your account has a balance after the 20th of the month, you
will be required to pay a late fee. Bills
are mailed the last working day of each month to allow customers
about 3 weeks to pay their bill and avoid late fees.
Can I pay my bill online?
Not currently.
Why does the water taste and smell different?
A natural occurrence in all surface water supplies, an "algal
bloom," is responsible for the taste and odor changes
in the water supply. Algal blooms usually occur in late July
and into August each year. An algae bloom does not affect the
safety of the drinking water.
What would cause my water bill to be much higher than usual?
If your water usage seems high, it is probably the result of
unusually high usage or a leak. The main culprit for high usage
is irrigation. Be sure that you are watering only when necessary.
Another reason for a water bill could be a leak. Turn off all the
sources of water (faucets, dishwashers, etc.), then look
at your water meter. If the meter is still moving, you may
have a leak.

When do you read meters?
Generally between the 15th and 25th of the month.
